Dropped in at The British Museum yesterday, too - where another fabric exhibition was being held> African Textiles Today expressing the designs and patterns fixed in African fabrics - much related to the colourful Kanga (cotton fabric 1.5m x 1m). Much of the Kanga designs are bold and vibrant and is generally relevant to communication such as story telling etc.
I wasn't able to take many photos, but I did witness a fascinating few modern ones that carried images of Barack Obama. Look!
I was also drawn to south African artist Georgia Papageorge's art works...
Why?..and here's my blurred reasoning...
